Migrating from Zoho Mail

Migrating from Zoho Mail to OnePoundEmail is straightforward using the built-in IMAPSync plugin in your DirectAdmin control panel. This tool securely copies your emails across with no added stress.

1. Prepare Your OnePoundEmail Mailbox

Before starting the migration, make sure you have already:

  • Created the destination email account in OnePoundEmail
  • Logged into DirectAdmin and confirmed it is working

If you haven't done this yet, see the How to Create Email Accounts guide first.

2. Enable IMAP Access in Zoho Mail

  1. Log in to your Zoho Mail account.
  2. Go to Settings → Mail Accounts → IMAP Access.
  3. Make sure IMAP is enabled for your account.

3. Log into DirectAdmin

  1. Access your DirectAdmin panel via your OnePoundEmail hosting account.
  2. Locate the IMAPSync Migrations plugin under E-Mail Manager.

4. Start the IMAPSync Transfer

On the IMAPSync Migrations page, click IMPORT E-MAILS and fill in the following details:

Source - Zoho Mail

Host: imap.zoho.com
User: your@yourdomain.com
Password: Zoho app-specific password (if 2FA is enabled)

Destination - OnePoundEmail

User: Your new OnePoundEmail address
Authentication: Internal sign-in or enter your password

Click START MIGRATION and wait for the process to complete.

Migration time depends on mailbox size. Large mailboxes may take several hours - you can safely close the browser and check back later.

5. Best Practices

  • Test the migration with a less important email account first.
  • Avoid syncing during peak hours for faster transfer speeds.
  • Keep your Zoho Mail account active during migration to avoid interruption.

6. Troubleshooting

  • Connection Errors Double-check IMAP settings - ensure port 993 and SSL are enabled in Zoho.
  • Password Fails If 2FA is enabled on your Zoho account, use an app-specific password instead of your main password.
  • Migration Incomplete Retry after a few hours, or split a large mailbox into smaller batches and migrate in stages.
