Overview
Migrating from Google Mail to OnePoundEmail is made easy using the built-in IMAPSync plugin in your DirectAdmin control panel. This tool lets you securely copy emails from your Google Mail account into your OnePoundEmail mailbox with no added stress.
Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Prepare Your OnePoundEmail Mailbox
Make sure you've already:
- Created the destination email account in OnePoundEmail
- Logged into DirectAdmin and confirmed it’s working
2. Enable IMAP Access in Google Mail
- Log in to your Google Mail account.
- Click the gear icon → See all settings
- Go to Forwarding and POP/IMAP → IMAP access
- Make sure IMAP is enabled
If you're using 2-Step Verification, you must generate an app password to use with IMAP.
3. Log into DirectAdmin
- Access your DirectAdmin panel via your hosting account.
- Locate the IMAPSync Migrations plugin under E-Mail Manager.
4. Start the IMAPSync Transfer
In the IMAPSync Migrations page, click on IMPORT E-MAILS:

imap.gmail.com
- User: Your Gmail address (e.g.,
[email protected]
) - Password: Your Google app password (if 2FA is enabled)
- Host:
Destination (OnePoundEmail):
- User: Your new OnePoundEmail email address
- Authentication: You can use internal sign-in or enter your password
Click START MIGRATION and wait for the process to finish.

- Test migration with a less important email account first
- Avoid syncing during peak hours for faster transfer
- Keep your Gmail account active during migration to avoid interruptions
