Using IMAPSync for Email Transfers

Overview

Email migration is the act moving your emails from another provider or account to OnePoundEmail. We make it simple by offering tools such as IMAPSync.

How to Use IMAPSync in DirectAdmin

OnePoundEmail offers the IMAPSync plugin, providing an interface for easy email transfers.

Steps:

1. Log in to your DirectAdmin control panel.
2. Navigate to the IMAPSync Migrations section under the E-mail Manager.
3. Click on IMPORT E-MAILS.
4. Enter the details of your source email account (the old email service):
   • IMAP server address
   • Email username and password
5. Select your OnePoundEmail destination account details.
6. Start the transfer and wait for it to complete.

Best Practices

• Create your destination email accounts in OnePoundEmail before migrating.
• Test with a small mailbox first to ensure the process works smoothly.
• Schedule the migration during low-usage times.
• Verify your DNS (MX, SPF, DKIM) settings are correct after migration.
• Update your email clients with the new OnePoundEmail account details.
